Heirloom Audio Wulf the Saxon Review #hsreviews #HeirloomAudio #WulfTheSaxon #LiveTheAdventure #BringingHentyBack #AudioAdventures

Heirloom Audio Productions
We are always so excited for the newest Heirloom Audio Productions. When we received the newest Extraordinary Adventure of G.A. Henty Wulf the Saxon I made my kids wait for a week to listen to it because we had a road trip coming up. I left it sitting in the dining room where we all walked by it all day long. My 13-year-old said this has been the longest week ever waiting to listen to the new G.A. Henty audio drama.
We actually drove to CO and picked up some of my kids' friends and drove back the same day. My girls and I listened to Wulf the Saxon on the way down and they wanted their friends to hear it too so we listened to it again on the way home. We were all more than happy to listen to it twice in one day and several times after that.
Wulf the Saxon
Wulf the Saxon is recommended for ages 6-adult. It is 2 1/2 hours of radio theatre recorded on two CDs. We own all of the Extraordinary Adventure of G.A. Henty from Heirloom Audio and to my family, Brian Blessed's voice is what we think G.A. Henty would sound like. Heirloom Audio does a great job casting the characters and that is one reason these dramas are so realistic.
Wulf the Saxon is an audio drama of the G.A. Henty book with the same name. This adventure of love, loyalty, and sacrifice takes us back to the shores of Normandy in 1065 where the struggle for the throne of England begins. Wulf is a young Saxon thane under Earl Harold. We get to see his loyalty and character grow as he goes through a shipwreck, imprisonment, and many battles. Of course, there is love, sacrifice, and trickery before William the Conqueror becomes King of England. Although there are many fighting scenes we hear of battles where there is no bloodshed and where the woman and children who didn't take up arms are spared.
The Heirloom Audio productions are from the historical adventures written in the 1800s by English novelist G.A. Henty. The quality of each recording is very well done and include very credible actors and actresses. The sound effects and background noises draw you in and make the stories come to life. It is very easy to get lost in the adventure and feel like you are really there. Time really flies by when you are listening to these radio theatres making them great for road trips. My girls haven't gotten into reading the Henty books like their brother did, but they love listening to the Heirloom Audio adventures and I'm glad. Not only are they entertaining and teach history they also show character traits that so many in our world today need to learn. The heroes in G.A. Henty's stories portray strong personal characteristics of hard work, courage, valor, and honor. Not only for themselves but for their countries and Heirloom Audio brings those character traits to life in their adventures.
