Egg in a Hole

Welcome to the 5 Days of Blogging with the Homeschool Crew.
I love being in the kitchen & I want my kids to be creative and enjoy cooking & baking too. So I chose to blog about 5 Days of Kids in the Kitchen.

Alaina is 7 and she loves to have Eggs in a Hole for breakfast. It is very easy to make and she can do most of it without any help. All you need is enough bread for everyone who is eating, eggs, and cookie cutters.

Press cookie cutter into a slice of bread.

You should have a piece of bread with a hole in it & a shaped piece of bread.

Scramble eggs in a dish & coat pan with butter or cooking spray.

Place piece of bread and bread shape into heated skillet.
Fill the hole in the bread with beaten egg & cook for a few minutes until the egg is cooked enough to easily flip.
Flip the shape & the piece of bread with egg inside & continue to cook until egg is done.

Serve while hot.

Cookie cutters with very little detail work the best. It is hard to see the butterfly in this slice of bread.
Alaina could eat these every day & she will even heat up the leftovers for a snack later in the day.

The only thing Alaina needs help with is flipping the bread with the egg inside. Your child may or may not need help with this depending on their age & ability to use the stove.

I've done this before, but never with my daughter - thanks for the reminder! I think it'll be a big hit...
