First Form Latin curriculum from Memoria Press is recommended  for children grades 5 and up but is the equivilant of a one year high school foreign language. The 34 lessons take a grammar-first approach and focuses on grammar forms and vocabulary making it great for any age. It is written by Cheryl Lowe and is based on twenty years of teaching experience and is used by more than 100,000 students across the world. The First Form series is committed to the trivium model of teaching grammar with extensive workbook exercises to ensure mastery and rapid recognition of inflected forms.

After mastering First Form, the student will have a solid grasp on the six indicative active tenses of the first two verb conjugations, five noun declensions, first and second declension adjectives, and 185 vocabulary words

I received First Form Latin plus DVD's & Flashcards from Memoria Press. I used this curriculum with my daughter's in the fifth and sixth grade. This curriculum is very in depth but easy to teach and the DVD lessons are a big help to the teacher.

We received a 120 page student text book with a 120 page teacher manual, a 190 page workbook, a quiz and test book with a teacher manual, instructional DVDs, pronunciation CD, and flashcards. There is a copy of the student text page on each page of the teacher manual, which really helps when going over the lessons. First Form Latin plus DVDs & Flashcards can be purchased for $115.00 at Memoria Press. You can view sample pages of the student textbook, student workbook, teacher manual, contents, and recitations. The First Form Latin by itself is $55.00

Founded in 1994 by Cheryl Lowe Memoria Press is family run and produces classical Christian education materials for home and private schools. They currently offer complete K-6 curriculum packages, Latin, French, Literature, Classical Studies, and Logic & Rhetoric.

Cheryl Lowe is the author of the popular programs, Latina Christiana, Lingua Angelica, and the First Form Latin series, as well as the First Start Reading phonics program. Cheryl discovered Latin when she homeschooled her sons and is the self-styled apostle of Latin, claiming that Latin has more educational value than any other subject you can teach your children. Cheryl graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Chemistry and from Western Kentucky University with a M.S. in Biology. Cheryl and her son Brian founded Memoria Press and the highly successful Highlands Latin School, where all of the Memoria Press products are taught and field-tested.

Crew members also reviewed Classical Phonics and Reading from Memoria Press. Sail over to the Crew blog and read reviews on both products.
