The Homeschool Mother's Journal

The Homeschool Chick

In my life this week...
I only had one small anniversary cake for yesterday so I got a lot done around the house. I have 3 bags ready for the Goodwill (Amber thinks we need to have a garage sale) and I filled both of our trash containers. I can't wait for Spring Break.....I just might get rid of everything.

In our homeschool this week...
My girls are really enjoying Latin for Children. Alaina was singing the chants the entire time we were at the grocery store.

Places we're going and people we're seeing...
We were gone a lot this week. We attended a wedding last weekend and got to catch up with several friends. We went to Church, piano lessons, Science class at the children's museum, History class with the homeschool kids from church, facial party for Shelby's Mary Kay business, soccer practice. Oh and I almost forgot I took the girls to The Taste of Home Cooking Show....we were busy!

My favorite thing this week was...
I cleaned out my back porch which is where we enter our house and everyone just likes to drop everything. It is great for shoes and coats, but after winter is always a mess.

What's working/not working for us...
My laundry hasn't been working! I have gotten it all washed the last couple of weeks but we are having a hard time getting it put away. We have been so busy it just sits in our baskets.

Homeschool questions/thoughts I have...
Thinking about what curriculum we want to use for school next year. It is so much fun to look at all my choices, the hard part is trying decide which ones to buy.

Aren't weddings wonderful? Several years ago my daughter won a dining room table at a Taste of Home cooking show (local store giveaway.) It is their school table now, however I need to do a lot of that clearing out stuff like you mentioned to be able to use it easily again.

We come in and out of our screened porch and it is always such a mess! I could clean that place daily and it never look good.

I really struggled with picking a homeschool curriculum this year. We've been ABeka users thus far, and after weeks of research, decided to stay with them for our core, but add Rod and Staff for Reading and I may add it for Spelling. Best of luck to you! Following from THMJ>
